Our Facilities
The quality of facilities provided in swimming camps plays a crucial role in the overall experience and development of participants. Good facilities can significantly impact swimmers' performance, learning, and enjoyment. At NAVY ELITE SWIM CAMPS, we prioritize the maintenance of our facilities to ensure that every camper can maximize their learning and training.
Lejeune Hall
Lejeune Hall is a state-of-the-art athletic facility at the United States Naval Academy. Named after Lieutenant General John Archer Lejeune, the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps and a member of the Naval Academy Class of 1888, this swimming and wrestling complex is the first building in the academy named after a Marine Corps officer. The building, constructed in 1982 with a budget of $13.5 million, combines modern design with traditional French Renaissance architecture that characterizes the academy campus. Lejeune Hall offers world-class facilities for competitive swimming, diving, and water polo events in various categories, including intercollegiate, U.S. Swimming and Diving, and the Olympics.
Pool
Our large pool measures 25 meters by 50 meters and has a depth of eight feet. It features a movable bulkhead that allows our team to train at any distance. For 50-meter competitions, the bulkhead can be moved to the end of the pool and stored in the ceiling. The pool consists of 23 lanes for 25-meter short course events or ten lanes for 50-meter long course events. With deep water, wide lanes, and cutting-edge gutter technology, Lejeune Pool is considered one of the fastest competitive facilities in existence. In 2012, the pool underwent an extensive $11 million renovation that included installing a video board display, upgrading filtration and chlorination systems, replacing pool tiles and decks, improving the HVAC system, repainting the walls, and upgrading the movable bulkhead and skylights.
Diving
Our diving well underwent significant renovations in the summer of 2009. The original diving tower was replaced with a new one, involving an investment of over $1 million. The renovations included constructing new springboard areas for one and 3-meter dives and new platform areas for 5, 7.5, and 10-meter dives. The new cantilevered tower, made from over 100 yards of concrete, features glass handrails connecting walkways to each diving section. The diving pool measures 60 feet by 52 feet and has depths varying from 14 to 17 feet. The pool also includes a powerful bubbler system under each level and an on-deck trampoline-dry land board for training. Additionally, the diving wall is equipped with three underwater observation windows.
Seating
The gallery around the pool offers comfortable armchair seats for up to 1,000 spectators. The spectator galleries are strategically located near the swimming and diving pools, providing an exciting atmosphere for competitions. In addition to the gallery seating, portable bleachers on the pool deck can accommodate an additional 500 spectators.
